Also guilty of false advertising. They could not provide us with what we paid them for and refused to refund our money despite the fact that we could sue them for their lying.
Mostly a seasonal RV resort with 318 sites crammed very close together. However, we stayed in the one tent camping with electric site and it was located in a grassy area a ways away from the other campers. Primitive tent camping sites nearby looked nice as well. No water available in any tent camping site except for in the bathrooms. Bathrooms were adequate with toilet/sink/shower and fairly clean.
Definitely not a place I would ever willingly visit again. Go with Mountain Top Campgrounds on the north east side of Pittsburgh. It's so much better in every way and makes this place shameful to even exist.
Staff and other campers are very nice and friendly.
Where do I start? Probably with the constant noise. Easily going till 10-11pm and starting again 5:30-6am. The campground was doing construction, the rock quarry next door was doing construction, the train runs right by the campground (and enjoys laying on it's horn at all hours), and the business next door has big trucks moving around and an intercom system. Everything together makes this the opposite of a nice, quiet campground.
My parents have camped here for years. It is a nice place for families to get away from the hustle of everyday life. There is a playground for kids.
The workers really are rude, at all times. I had heard they were but thought that maybe it was the camper being rude and the workers just mirroring. Nope. Just rude even though we were polite to them.
I have been coming here for 10 years. My entire family would tent camp or rent the cabins for the luau each year. Many great memories made with raising our nieces here and now the grandkids who love to come here. The playground is great for them. Taught our nieces to drive here with the golf carts.
I paid my $350 deposit, 3 days later we had an emergency to arise and I called to let them know 3 days before our arival date. (Plenty of time to fill that spot...plus there's a waiting list) I was NEVER told that the deposit was nonrefundable. They could care less about ripping people off. If they can sleep at night, I guess I can too. I was raised in a family owned business all my life and my father would never do a customer this way. It's called doing the right thing.
Thanks for having us here and we look forward to returning when we come back from Nevada.
